Hardware Test Engineer

Job Description

A Hardware Test Engineer at TransTRACK plays a crucial role in ensuring that every IoT device and embedded system developed meets high standards of quality, stability, and reliability before entering production and deployment to customers. This role serves as a key bridge between the embedded hardware, firmware, and software teams to maintain end-to-end product quality.

Responsibility

- Merencanakan, menjalankan, dan mendokumentasikan aktivitas pengujian hardware dan firmware untuk perangkat IoT dan embedded system. - ⁠Melakukan validasi sistem, pengujian integrasi, dan regression testing untuk rilis hardware baru. - ⁠Mengembangkan dan memelihara environment pengujian berbasis Linux serta setup pengujian otomatis. - ⁠Mengidentifikasi, mendokumentasikan, dan melacak defect menggunakan sistem manajemen isu. - ⁠Berkolaborasi erat dengan tim hardware, firmware, dan software untuk menganalisis serta menyelesaikan permasalahan. - ⁠Mendukung proses validasi pabrik (factory validation) dan pengujian produksi bila diperlukan. - ⁠Berkontribusi dalam peningkatan cakupan pengujian dan perbaikan kualitas secara berkelanjutan. - ⁠Menyusun dan memelihara checklist pengujian hardware serta reference checkpoint. - ⁠Mengimplementasikan otomasi pengujian hardware bila memungkinkan untuk meningkatkan efisiensi.

Requirement

Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field. At least 3 years of experience in hardware or embedded system testing. Strong understanding of Linux (command line, scripting, device configuration, log analysis). Experience testing IoT or embedded devices (sensors, gateways, displays, and similar devices). Familiarity with communication interfaces such as UART, CAN, Ethernet, RS485, and others. Understanding of firmware flashing processes, version control, and hardware debugging tools. Strong documentation and communication skills. Experience with automation scripting (Python, Bash, or similar) is a plus. Knowledge of measurement and testing instruments (oscilloscope, multimeter, power analyzer) is an advantage. Strong teamwork and communication skills, with an interest in mentoring and technical collaboration. Good English proficiency (spoken and written) for communication with international teams. Strong enthusiasm for learning, exploration, and continuous improvement. Nice to Have Experience in hardware–software integration testing. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines or automated testing frameworks. Understanding of networking protocols such as MQTT, TCP/IP, and Modbus. Experience or knowledge related to compliance and certification testing (RED, CE, FCC).
